Wide Awake | Open Hands is the third EP by Oakland, CA based electro-Americana band Mr. Kind. It was recorded at TRI Studios in San Rafael, the studio founded by the legendary Bob Weir, of the Grateful Dead. It is a departure from from the rough-around-the-edges garage folk rock of our first EP OK and the denser electronic leanings of their second EP, Mr. Kind. This EP shows the collaboration between the members of Mr. Kind deepening on their most ambitious studio effort to date.

Glory, why’d you leave me like you did
Open hands, my face they hid
Now I need you and you are not there
I can’t see you with my eyes open
We both were young and did not know any better
Still I don’t blame you
Glory when I met you I was whole
Now that you have gone I have holes
Try to fill them with the other girls
But each one of them falls short
The first thing you said to me was
You look lost where are you going?
I feel foolish because I forgot my reply
What I said that made you smile
Now that you have left I lie on the ground
